27-30 May 2005
Said Blue, DC Burner, housemate and leaseholder: "Hey, some tickets opened up for
Playa del Fuego. Still interested in going? Thirty bucks!"
Said I: "Sure, but I can't go till Saturday."
"Joe's going Saturday afternoon. Why don't you catch a ride with him?"
Saturday afternoon came, and I still had tons needing done, though I
did have my room looking somehow clean and the floor mopped. But Blue had
left me a Golden Ticket, so what could I do but go along for the ride?
Stop in at the Co-Op for groceries. I don't have any stove, so everything
has to be ready-to-eat: soy-"meat" pie for Saturday dinner, falafel sandwich
for Sunday breakfast, apples, oranges, trail mix, muesli, a couple of
exotic soy drinks and half-a-gallon of soy milk.
Joe got his groceries later on in Middletown, DE: hotdogs, potato chips,
breakfast bars, bottled water.
Six p.m.: We arrive at the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club campground....
